Unhappy Memory problem

Ok, so tonight i logged onto guild wars and started playing. About 10min into play, my screen froze, and a message popped up saying "Out of Memory", and below that it had an Ok button, i selected the button, and it quitted out of guild wars. Now i though, no biggy, must just be a little something. However, i logged on about 4 more times and each time after about 10min it did the same thing!

Does any1 know what my problem is?? I would really appreciate all the help any1 could offer.

Thx in advanced,
Jimmy Boveto

probably a virtual memory error, try increasing it.
In Windows XP, right click on "My Computer" and select properties, then advanced tab, then settings under performance, then advanced tab again and finally settings under virtual memory. on all the computers in the tech room at work we set it to 2095 min, 4096 max. (all this does is allocate 2095MB - 4096MB of your drive, with windows installed on it, as saved for RAM purposes) in other words it uses that amount of hard drive space to write RAM contents. it is basically free ram, but it costs hard drive space.

K, ty, however i don' think its a problem with my ram, cus i have 768mb, and it has worked for me a few months now, and all of a suddenly started to go a little wacky tonight

Also, not too sound dumb, but when i go to what u suggested, doing that will take up almost all room on my hard drive, i just want to know if any1 else suggests the same thing u suggested even if it takes up lots of room on my hard drive.

You must have a VERY small hard drive, because 2095MB - 4096MB of virtual memory = about 2.1-4.1 Gigabytes, and you said that will take up almost all of it. If thats actually the case, Id suggest a new, larger hard drive, as theyre very inexpensive, even for very large ones. The "Out of Memory" error could be just as you say, from a small hard drive, or, perhaps a memory leak, though I dont think thats a problem with GW. Are you running any other programs besides GW? If so, which ones? Media players can take up a good chunck of memory.

As Gorebrex stated it sounds like you have a very small hard drive. That may be one cause f your problem. Another cause may be faulty ram. Get memtest and have it check out your ram, if it finds some bad it will let you know.
